38% of candidates make credit level pass in English and maths.

And so....
The latest WAEC result show 38% of the 1.5m candidates made credit level passes in 5 subjects including english and mathematics..

Many latter day 'analysts' have reframed it to mean ' a whopping 62% of candidates fail maths and English'

My posers..
Is a credit level pass rate of 38% really low and abysmal as we read it? What is our benchmark?

What was the pass rate in the so called 70s and 80s when education quality was said to be great?

How come the Nigerians that went through that purported 'better quality education systems ' of the 60s and 70s ran down most of our corporations and government parastatals and embedded high level of nepotism and avarice in our lives?

So what if 100% passed maths and English ? Does that make our younger ones a bit more humble? Does it make us more creative in anyway? Does is aid resilience in our younger ones? Does this imply we can get to that meeting at 8am as appointed without blaming it on the 'traffic' weather' and other such time beaten matters? Does this enhance productivity in our work places in anyway?

Dear friends,

Your perspective please!!!

Have a great week!!
